The Harbor Women’s Care Team invites you to attend Craving Grace: Walking in the Goodness of the Gospel on Saturday, March 17 from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This workshop-style retreat event will provide women an opportunity for fellowship, refreshment, and gospel-focused content that will challenge, encourage, and equip us to live each day in the realities that are ours by union with Christ. Cost for the day’s events is $22 and includes the book Craving Grace: Experiencing the Richness of the Gospel, box lunch, workshop materials, and other goodies. Full and partial scholarships are available. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to register or sign up in the church foyer. We look forward to sharing the day with you!
Be sure to register by Sunday, March 11! Checks can be made out to Harbor Church (please note Women’s Retreat or Craving Grace in the memo) and given to any WCT member or dropped in the offering plate. Thank you!
Hope of Mooresville provides emergency housing and support for homeless women and children in downtown Mooresville. The Harbor Women’s Fellowship Team has organized a Care Bag Packing Event to take place Saturday, February 17 at 2:30 p.m. at the church. Please mark your calendars to join this time of fellowship and service to those in need in our community. There is a sign up sheet in the foyer for needed donations. Please bring all requested items to church by Sunday, February 11, when we will also have the opportunity to hear from Bonnie Battalia, Hope of Mooresville’s Community Coordinator, during a missions moment in our worship service. The bags we pack, along with hand written cards of encouragement, will be given to residents at the shelter. Please contact the Harbor Women’s Fellowship Team with any questions. We hope to see you there!
The Wisdom of God: Seeing Jesus in the Psalms & Wisdom Books, by Nancy Guthrie
As we wrap up our ten-week study From Garden to Glory: A Bible Study on the Bible’s Story, the Harbor Women’s Bible Study would like to invite you to join us for our winter/spring study, introduced by author Nancy Guthrie, above. We will continue to meet at the same time and location (Tuesday mornings at Harbor Church from 9:30 – 11:15 in Room 201), and will be studying this content through May 2018. Childcare is provided, though if you are new to the study and need to make use of it, please let us know so we can plan accordingly. If you have questions or want us to order the book for you at a discounted rate, please email email@example.com. The cost of the book as part of the group order will be between $7 and $8.50, depending on the number of participants. Please submit all book requests by Thursday, November 16 if you would like to be part of our group order. If you would like to order your own book, the one we will be using can be found here. Our first meeting date for this study is Tuesday, December 5th. We hope to see you then!
Fall Women’s Bible study (see previous post for study details) will begin Tuesday, September 12, and believe it or not, it’s time for us to find out who can attend. All are welcome (church members, attenders, friends, neighbors, etc.), and we’d be delighted to meet new friends and welcome new participants. Please get in touch with us no later than August 31 to communicate your intention to join the group! (WomensCareTeam@harborchurch.org) This will allow us to plan childcare (provided), order the books at lower cost to you, and make sure the space we plan to use will accommodate our group. Our fall session will meet at the church 9:30 – 11:15 Tuesday mornings from September 12 – December 12, taking November 21 off for Thanksgiving.
Unable to meet on Tuesdays but would like to study along with the group? Send us an email and let us know if you’d like to order a book and be on our email list. Group participants receive a weekly email reviewing/ summarizing our discussion time and study focus for the week (check out our Women’s Care Team Blog to see past email posts). We look forward to our time together!
Have you ever wondered how the various books of the Bible fit together, or if we are supposed to find an overarching message threaded through its pages from Genesis to Revelation? Have you wondered how the parts of scripture relate to the whole? Have you struggled to understand your place in relationship to God’s revelation of himself to us in his word? If you’ve ever wrestled with questions like these, I hope you will join us for our fall 2017 Women’s Bible study, From Garden to Glory by Courtney Doctor. From Garden to Glory is a 10-week Bible study on the Bible’s story for women of all ages and backgrounds. Please check out the video above, and make plans to join us on Tuesday mornings starting in September for the study! Feel welcome to invite your friends, neighbors and community members to participate. Email the Women’s Care Team (firstname.lastname@example.org) for additional information.
