Coming to any church for the first time, even if you are used to coming to church, can be a bit stressful: what should I wear? Will people look at me funny? Will I be embarrassed? Here at Harbor Church, we understand the stress and it’s our desire that you would feel at home with us. Because we see ourselves as a church family, we want to welcome you into our redeemed and rescued family that we have here. It is our hope and prayer that you find Harbor Church to be a warm and friendly place where you can hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, be equipped for the Christian life, and have opportunities to engage the community and the world with the love of Christ.
What time should I come?
Our service goes from 9:30 am – 10:45 am every Sunday, with a fellowship/snack time afterward, and Sunday school for all ages goes from 11:15 am – 12:00 pm. We love meeting before and after the service, so if this is your first time with us, come a few minutes early, we’d love to chat!
We love good content that helps us to be honest about our sins and needs, hear God’s promises over us, sing of His great salvation, be fed by His word, and grow closer as a family of God. Check out a bulletin to see more.
Our musical selections are more content driven than style, which means you’ll find a variety of styles here at Harbor: sometimes we sing traditional hymns, sometimes songs written in the last few years, and everything in between.
We celebrate the Lord’s Supper or Communion every week. This helps us to remember Christ’s sacrifice for us and is ‘food for the journey’. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is part of the ordinary way that Christ grows us in our delight of Him (an ordinary means of grace), which is why we celebrate every week.
Have kids? We love having kids worshiping with us because we believe that part of making disciples of our kids is to introduce them and encourage them in weekly worship as we all gather together as one family in Christ. We do offer several ways to engage our kids in the service itself. We also offer on occasion a class on ‘parenting in the pews’ based on Robbie Castleman’s book by the same name.
Have babies? We love having little ones in our service, and it doesn’t bother us a bit if there is an occasional cry or fuss! Of course, we realize sometimes little ones get a little too rowdy, so we have sound in the hallway just outside the sanctuary. We also have a nursing mom’s room upstairs in room 202 with sound from the service available if desired.
Nursery For kids under the age of 4 we also offer weekly nursery.
But wait there’s more! We love having folks stick around afterward to get to know us more; we want to get to know you! If you come to visit, plan on joining us for coffee and snacks. We hope that you can be a part of the wonderful fellowship we have here at Harbor.
